This year, I will join a group of local runners participating in various running events as a means of raising money and awareness for Centre Volunteers in Medicine.  This Run for CVIM Challenge, known in previous years as Marathoners for Medicine, has grown from a single person running the Boston Marathon and collecting money in support of his run, to a group of about 30 runners who run several different marathons in support of CVIM.  This year, we are opening this up to, not just marathoners, but to all local runners in an effort to make a larger impact for CVIM.

Please help me raise funds and awareness for CVIM.


CVIM is a free clinic providing medical and dental care, medication assistance, case management services, and behavioral health services to the thousands living or working in Centre County without healthcare coverage.  CVIM receives no federal or state money and only limited funding from the county.  Over 95% of CVIM's budget comes from the community - Every gift is critical!


 

The heat is on as spring tilts toward summer, and in a very short time I'll be lacing up to run a half marathon to raise money and support the work of Centre Volunteers in Medicine. 

My run is on June 27, the Eager Seeger Half Marathon, in Pennsylvania's Rothrock State Forest. It will be a serious challenge – hey, I’m no spring chicken! – but nothing compared to the challenge that the medically underinsured face every day.

I invite you to join me by making a donation of any amount. My goal is to raise $1,000.00. I'm dedicating this run to my Mom, who passed away recently.
