Jaimie Wright's Story
I am thrilled to be running the 2014 Boston Marathon and raising funds to support CVIM. As soon as I heard about last year's bombing, I decided that I needed to be at the starting line of this year's marathon to show my support for the running community and the people of Boston, where I spent my high school years and where my family still lives. I have done a lot of moving in my life, and each time I've moved to a new place, the running community has been welcoming and supportive, and runners have been among my closest friends. I managed to qualify for Boston the very last weekend before the Boston Marathon registration opened.
This year's marathon will demonstrate how strong and supportive of each other the running community is, and that together, we bring out the best in each other. I am so excited to have family and friends cheering along the course, as well as the thousands of spectators who wish the runners well.
I am also glad to be raising funds to support CVIM, an organization that truly makes a difference in State College.
Thank you so much for your support!
