This year, I will join a group of local runners participating in various running events as a means of raising money and awareness for Centre Volunteers in Medicine.  This Run for CVIM Challenge, known in previous years as Marathoners for Medicine, has grown from a single person running the Boston Marathon and collecting money in support of his run, to a group of about 30 runners who run several different distances in support of CVIM.

Please help me raise funds and awareness for CVIM.


CVIM is a free clinic providing medical and dental care, medication assistance, case management services, and behavioral health services to the thousands living or working in Centre County without healthcare coverage.  Over 95% of CVIM's annual budget comes from the community - Every gift is critical!


 
Debbie Simoncek's Story:

This is my third and much overdue attempt to raise funds for CVIM.  In 2020, because of the pandemic, I did a virtual run.  Now in 2023 I am again doing another solo run, not because of a shortage of races, but because I enjoyed the personal challenge without the pressure of a race.  My goal is to run/walk the Pine Creek Rail Trail from Wellsboro to Jersey Shore- a 100k or 62 mile distance.  I plan to split the distance in two days, covering the first 30 on Sept 29 and with any luck, finishing on the 30th.

I could not even attempt this event without the support of my husband, Ed, who hopefully will meet me along the way, and to all the support from friends and family. Please join me in the fundraising effort for CVIM!
